The area acquired is 2 roods. This is equivalent to 0.5 of an acre.

The map shows that the original symmetrical cemetery will be surrounded by the new area which will be limited by the steep slope to the North, the chalk pit to the West, the existing field boundary to the South, and the road to the North. The new area is still on lower level.

The map shows the cemetery chapel and also the "New Chapel".
