Wickham Twinning Association

 Wickham has a twin town - Villers sur Mer, a delightful seaside resort on the Normandy coast between Caen and Le Havre, about 40 minutes drive from either port. The fine sandy beach extends from Deauville past Villers and along below the famous cliffs of the 'Vaches Noires', which date back to Jurassic times. Many varieties of ammonites are found at Villers. There is an attractive centre with shops and cafés and a casino with an upstairs room, which has panoramique views, where we are often entertained very generously. A family group crosses on the ferry every other year to enjoy a weekend of lavish French hospitality. All villagers are welcome. Next Spring, it is our turn to entertain a group from Villers. There are social events during the year to raise funds and have fun at the same time. The Garden Party is in July, the Quiz Evening in October and the Wine Tasting in November. All villagers are welcome. The British Legion visit Villers annually, and the Primary School exchanges visits with the Villers school. The Morris Dancers regularly perform for the people of Villers.
